Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSS) has allocated 4,211 delegates for the first national general convention. They were elected through seven provinces, migration, integration and nomination.

According to party secretariat organisation department secretary Shankar Shrestha, 170 people have been nominated from the Overseas Liaison Department of 33 countries, 138 from the party president as per the statute and 192 from the group have been nominated.

A total of 364 representatives from Koshi Province, 630 from Madhes, 794 from Bagmati Province, 621 from Lumbini, 454 from Gandaki, 343 from Karnali and 505 from Sudurpaschim State are taking part in the general convention.

The general convention will be represented by five representatives including the municipality president, regional president, vice-president, district president, among others. All the members of the provincial committee, the office-bearers of the province-level departments, the disciplinary commission and the advisory council are also representatives.

Similarly, there are 11 members each from 38 departments and 11 members each from the Central Election Commission, Discipline Commission and Accounts Commission.

Each rural municipality has one representative, two from the municipality, three from the sub-metropolis and four from the metropolitan city.

There will be three representatives each from the provincial liaison department and one representative from the district liaison department. In the last House of Representatives, the defeat of the RSP and the people in the proportional representation list were also representatives.

In addition, the people from the proportional representation list and those active in the party who lost in the 2079 elections to the House of Representatives have also been made representatives. Members of the House of Representatives, who are not in the central committee, have also become representatives of the general convention.
