Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will meet US Secretary of the Treasury and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga on Monday with an aim to strengthen economic partnership and cooperation.

Matters relating to increasing bilateral cooperation, reconstruction, FATAC’s departure from greylist and comprehensive economic reforms will be discussed during the meeting.

During the meeting, we will discuss with the representatives of the World Bank and the US government regarding mobilization of additional assistance for rebuilding the physical and economic infrastructure damaged by the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi region.

The main objective of the visit is to increase investment of development partners and private sector to create employment and economic opportunities in the country through important infrastructure such as roads, electricity transmission line, etc.

During the visit, Finance Minister Wagle will hold high-level meeting with the high-ranking officials of the International Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) and leading investors from the private sector.
